The project of the house of the wolf in Russia
INTRODUCTION
Laetitia Becker of association Lupus Laetus works at the opening, in theory in August 2009, of a “house of the wolf” to the hamlet of Chistoe. The Alsatian ones came in reinforcement.
Three young pensioners from Colmar to Alsace (France) helped in June Laetitia Becker to repair an old built school more than one century ago with Chistoe. Joined by volunteers of Nancy and Lyon, they also prepared an enclosure intended for Dourimar, a young wolf too tamed to be slackened in nature : Dourimar will be the mascot of the future “House of the wolf”.
Followed by a lot of mosquitos, the volunteers handled the trowel, the brush and the foot of hind. It was necessary to output with the axe wood necessary to the cooking of the meals. But Nicolaï and his wife Lenna, 2 generous neighbors, launched some invitations to taste in family of trouts and mushrooms. What to appreciate deep Russia in spite of its relative discomfort and its devastating mosquitos !

In this environment of scout camp, other éco-volunteers will follow one another until in August, date envisaged so that the “House of the wolf” accueuille its first visitors, photographs and documentary films with the support. It is a question of twisting the blow with the reputation of ferocity which drag wrongfully the wolf, which fears the man like the scale. It is impossible besides to see a wild wolf in the taiga.
PRECARIOUS FINANCING The idea of a “House of the wolf” germinated in the spirit of Vladimir Blogov by noting the success of a biological station devoted to the bear in another village. Year in year out, it accommodates nearly 2 000 visitors. Even at a rate of 100 or 200 roubles per visitor (between 2 and 4 euros) the future “House of the wolf” could thus help to finance the actions led to the profit of the wolves, in nature and the media, per the duet Vladimir and Laetitia.
ANIMAL FORSAKES On the side of the organizations of protection of fauna - WWF style or IFAW- the Russian wolf is not entitled to the least small rouble whereas the bear is cherished in the station nearest to Chistoe. Without forgetting the financing by the IFAW of imposing “a house of the bear”, with wages paid with the personnel and pretty a dacha built for the benefit of director of the station.
The guards of the wolf are reduced by it to their own means, in fact adhesions with association Lupus Laetus and the generosity of some sponsors. Thus thanks to conferences in Alsace Laetitia joined together what to finance the transmitting collars which will equip running the 2010, 4 wolf cubs offered these days to the station by the zoo with Saint-Petersbourg.
