

INTRODUCTION
The South China tiger, of its Latin name will panthera tigris amoyensis, is also called tiger of China, Chinese tiger, Amur tiger or tiger of the love. It is the species of tiger more in danger of extinction.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Its size is between that of that and Bengal tiger of the Sumatran tiger. Its stripes are spaced than those of and the Bengal tiger and Siberian tiger, but also shorter and broader.
DISTRIBUTION
This felid lives through the wet forests of the center and the east of China. Although its possible existence today is very discussed, one could still find Chinese tigers in a reserve in the south of China.
MANPOWER AND TENDENCY
They are extremely rare tigers and it will be the next subspecies of tiger to be died out. About fifteen years ago one estimated their population between 30, to see 50 individuals in freedoms. In captivity, there are 47 tigers distributed in 18 different Chinese zoos. Their survival is seriously threatened by the loss of their range.
