She-wolf shot down in France
A she-wolf gestante shot down by the State in Haute-Savoie (Fr) !
A she-wolf was cut down on May 10th, 2009 in Haute-Savoie by a lieutenant of louvetery, authorized by the State 3 months hardly after the proven poaching of a wolf in the same pack. Because it is that also which is delirious in the management of this file by the state: in spite of a poaching, one yields to the lobbies....
It was the dominant she-wolf of the pack : the autopsy showed that it carried fetuses. The risk which the pack bursts and which attacks with the herds increase because of isolated individuals is not negligible. The sought-after goal was not it to reduce this damage ?
Following Grenelle of the Environment and the wish posted of France to preserve his biodiversity, one could have believed that the priority was to make move back the poaching of a protected space which one knows particularly aimed by his adversaries.
The demolition of this new wolf if little is justified that it was not even evoked at the time of the last National Group Wolf, where nobody did not require it : neither stockbreeders, neither local government, nor even the deputy of Haute-Savoie Martial Saddier which was lengthily expressed.
In addition, this shot down she-wolf proves to be the dominant female of the pack because it carried several fetus : these are thus the wolves which disappear at a stretch. This shooting could have the contrary effect of that required on the damage with the troupeaux : the disappearance of a dominant female in period of low setting can remove the structure from the pack and lead to an increase in the attacks on the domestic herds because of isolated individuals.
We thus invite all the friends of the wolf and nature in general to be protested against this shooting which could prove to be disastrous and for the population of wolves and the ovine herds of Haute-Savoie.
