The zoological field of Pesheray has just accommodated a pack of six Arctic wolves (Canis lupus arctos), four females and two males of the same phratry.

They are white, weigh from 40 to 45 kg, have between 1 and 3 years and come from the Moselle (France)… These Arctic wolves or white wolves are originating in Greenland and other very septentrional areas. Like all the species living with the North pole, the Arctic wolf is in the process of disappearance, because of the cast iron of the ice-barrier.

These wolves are different from the gray wolf by their thick fur, which enables them to be protected from the very low temperatures (until - 50 degrees), and his very broad legs which act as rackets to go in snow.
